ATHLETE
BRANDING

An athlete's brand is much bigger than the next "deal." Just like a traditional brand is bigger than its next "sale." Our Athlete Branding division specializes in all facets of building a true brand - content development, PR, philanthropy strategy, marketing and endorsements, community involvement and social media - empowering our players to maximize the impact of their platform.

SERVICES:

  • In today’s world, athletes hold the power from a brand perspective and have become brands of their own. At IFA, we believe every athlete. has a story to tell both on and off the field, and it’s our job to help make it known. Our creative services include personal branding development and logo design, creative video and photography, design and graphics, social media content and social media strategy. Our team will manage and facilitate everything so that our clients can focus on their craft.

  • For many clients, endorsements and brand partnerships are significant contributors to their overall income, often complementing earnings from salaries, signing or performance-related bonuses. Successful endorsement deals can elevate an athlete's profile, increase marketability and can lead to additional opportunities both within and outside of the sports industry.

Endorsements involve a formal agreement between an athlete and a brand or company where the athlete lends their name, image or reputation to promote and support the products or services of that brand.

Brand partnerships are collaborative relationships between athletes and brands that extend beyond traditional endorsement deals. They often involve a more integrated and ongoing association between the athlete and the brand long-term including the creation of products or merchandise or becoming part of an advisory board.

Our highly experienced staff leverages our relationships to introduce clients to categories and companies that they want to build relationships with over time.

  • When an athlete joins Team IFA, our relationships become their relationships. Through media networks and public relations contacts, our tenured PR staff advises on media training so that our athletes can engage in interviews with journalists from various media outlets. Opportunities can range from one-on-one interviews to press conferences before or after games.

Every athlete needs to effectively communicate with the media, provide insights into their performance, discuss team dynamics and answer questions appropriately in order to stay relevant in the conversation and uphold their own reputation as well as the reputation of their franchise or team. It’s our job at Team IFA to prepare them accordingly.

  • The world of NIL and the transfer portal is changing rapidly. Team IFA applies the same principles of contract negotiation and leverages our relationships to ensure that athletes maximize their value when it comes to their college career.

Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL): The NCAA now allows student-athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness. This has led to changes in NCAA policies and state or school-level legislation that permits athletes to capitalize on endorsements, sponsorships and other commercial opportunities. Our staff has established relationships with hundreds of brands and companies and will conduct outreach and negotiate deals for our clients.

Collective Negotiation: As revenue sharing at a collective level becomes increasingly popular and available to student-athletes, it’s our job to help advocate and negotiate for dollars on behalf of our clients.

Transfer Portal and Eligibility: The NCAA has been adapting transfer rules to give athletes more flexibility. Changes in eligibility requirements and the transfer portal have made it easier for student-athletes to move between schools, subject to certain conditions. When a client elects to move schools, we help them navigate the process and ensure they make the best decision possible.
